Malaysia Sailing Association





Malaysia Yachting Association (MYA) incorporated since 1968 has evolved from a mere yacht club tenant of an old Klang port in West Malaysia to a full 38 affiliated members involving state and private organisations. Build under the foundation of dinghy sailing and cruise yachters, MYA has seen two world sailing champions and has qualified in Laser Class in Olympics since 2004.

Backed by National Sports Council, Olympic NOC, National Sports Institute and State Authorities this International Federation (ISAF) MNA is one of the top developing Asian sailing organisations. In the wake of support from corporate sponsorship and guidance, seeding professionalism in management, MYA embarks into new team dimension with institutional leadership incorporating grass root and youth sailing involvement nationwide.

Managing directly or jointly organised, MYA has IODA Asia, IODA World, SEAsia and ASC Championship including Alpari WMRT Match Racing engraved in its testimony. Malaysia Yachting Associaiton (MYA) now called Malaysia Sailing Association (MSA) has an administration office in Kuala Lumpur and a National Training Centre situated in Langkawi.
